making sense

sometimes i keep stories in my head from when i was younger in case i one day have the knowledge to figure out what it all means.

example:

when i was about 6 years old, my 13-year-old friend told me a story about angels. she said she was almost in a car accident, but the moment the car stopped, she saw a bright green light cross her path. she believed it was an angel guarding her and saving her life.

over the years, this story has randomly popped up in my head. here are my thoughts throughout time:

me at 6: angel? maybe it was a fairy! cool!
me at 10: i don’t think it was a fairy… she’s making this stuff up!
me at 14:  maybe she saw something else like a green light
me at 17: the light was probably due to a sudden deceleration that was forceful enough to apply pressure to the optic nerve of the brain

when i really can’t figure something out, i just argue with myself for years.
